Dinner Time Dougie is a DJ who runs a restaurant that doesn't exist. The menu is soulful bass music, from hiphop and trap to latin and desert house. The dining room is a bodega at 2 a.m. The chef handles a gas-station taquito the way a three-star kitchen handles the last white truffle of the season: gravely, with both hands.

The sound is called Microwave Soul. Hiphop and trap give it structure and the samples lean on soul and gospel. All of it sits on the low end. Sets are mixed sub-first, a little lo-fi on purpose, and built as courses: something to start, something with weight in the middle, the heavy plate before last call, and something warm to send everyone home.
